Frequently Asked Questions

What is Intuitive Counseling?

Intuitive Counseling sessions are a way to help your divine self inform your everyday consciousness. Shannon connects with you as a spirit and helps you bring in the inspiration that you need to navigate whatever challenges you are facing.

Are your readings online or in person?

Readings are available both in person and online. When you book a session, it is in-person by default. But, if you prefer, your session can take place over Zoom. If you are local and have limited mobility, Shannon is also happy to make a house call for a live session.

What should I expect during my session? How does this work?

A session follows a format in which Shannon finds you as a spirit and establishes a connection, then mirrors what you as a spirit want to have brought into your regular consciousness.

The sessions are interactive. Shannon will probably be doing a fair amount of talking, but you can jump in at any time if anything needs clarification, or if you want to go into greater depth on something or go in a different direction.

Sometimes the sessions go by in a whirlwind of new ideas and it’s hard to remember them all. You are free to take notes or record the session on your phone.

How long is my session?

Intuitive Counseling appointments are blocked out for 90 minutes.

What if I’m in a bad space? Should I wait to have a session until I’m clearer?

If you’re feeling like you’re a big mess, that’s a great time to have a session, when issues are right near the surface and are ready to be sorted out.

How should I prepare for my session?

Come as you are. If you have time to think about and/or note specific questions you’d like to explore during your session, that’s great, but you are welcome either way.

How frequently should I have sessions?

This depends on you. People navigating complex issues or transitions may benefit from more frequent sessions, but others may need one once every few months, or even less. In general, Shannon recommends at least a couple of weeks between sessions so that the changes that we make during the session have time to settle in.

How do I know the sessions are working?

In most cases, you can expect there to be some sort of noticeable shift or insight during the session. You may also notice shifts after the session is complete. The nature of what happens is unique to every individual and their goals.

Do sessions replace other forms of self-care, such as therapy?

These sessions are complementary with other forms of self-care, providing another avenue to approach issues that you are working on with a therapist, coach, or other provider(s). Working on the spiritual and energetic aspects of a problem can help the mental and emotional aspects unwind that much more easily.
